Laura Howard retired as Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Philosophy department at the University of Arizona. She now serves on the Rogers College of Law Faculty as Professor of Practice. She received her B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from the University of Missouri St. Louis and her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Arizona. Howard’s area of specialty is in normative and applied ethics, and she teaches graduate courses covering topics in medical ethics, regulation and ethics for healthcare professionals, disability ethics, reproductive rights and aging and social justice. Her current scholarship interests involve moral distress in healthcare, bedside consultation ethics, and end-of-life issues.
